Columbus Post Office

The Columbus Post Office is for sending, delivering and receiving letters for staff and students. “The Post Office system is available to encourage writing and the art of letter writing,” said Mrs. Spencer. The Post Office crew are all volunteers from 3rd and 4th grade.

There are many steps to the Post Office mailing system. The first step is to write a letter! Then the Post Office crew sorts the mail in the Green Wing and “cancels” the letters (it shows everyone that the mail has gone through our system). Finally, the letter carriers drop the letters off, door-to-door.

Post Office crew have created stations in the staff lunch room, so the teachers can write letters to students.

Columbus Communities...and Beyond!

The Family Letter Project

CALLING ALL FAMILIES! All students will take home an informational letter about the Post Office. Attached to this is the mailing address for your child. You can write a letter to your child and it will be delivered to them at school!

Letters of Hope

Letters of Hope are letters written by the Post Office crew. These letters are sent to the St. Barnabas Soup Kitchen. Mrs. Spencer said the goal of these letters was to “brighten their day”.

Military Letters

The Post Office crew will be writing letters to people serving in the Military. The letters will be sent with the candy collected from the “Candy for the Troops” drive. Thank you Mrs. Strong and Mrs. Spencer!

Excitement is buzzing in Mrs. Spencer’s classroom as the Post Office plans to open on Wednesday! The Post Office crew eagerly waits for letters to be sent!
