Hands (and 8 legs) on learning is happening with 2nd graders and Rosie the tarantula. Rosie provides many opportunities for students to see a very up-close and realistic demonstration of how she moves, eats and sleeps. After studying a unit on insects, with many 6-legged friends to observe and touch, students can now authentically compare and contrast insects with spiders. Hopefully our insect friends and Rosie will not mind all the observing!
